No pressure for Antoine

Already holding several Division I offers, Belle Chasse (La.) junior Quadry Antoine expects to welcome several visitors to spring practice next week. But the 6-foot and 210-pound safety/linebacker prospect said he will feel no added pressure to perform.

"I know Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, Florida International, Memphis, Southern Miss and North Texas are coming down," said Antoine. "And LSU assistant coach Frank Wilson said he would also make it down. To be honest, I don't feel any added pressure with all those schools coming. I am going to just do what I do and go play ball."

Of that group coming to see him in action, Antoine has been offered by Pittsburgh, Southern Miss, Memphis, North Texas, Florida International as well as Arkansas State.

Among all the schools showing him interest, Antoine noted of the schools he talks with the most.

"The one I've been talking to the most is Coach Greg Knox of Mississippi State and also coaches at Louisiana Tech and Pittsburgh," said Antoine. "Coach Knox said he wants to see how I move this spring. He also wants me back for their summer camp to see how I move on the field when I go to their camp.

"I am also going to try to make some other visits this summer. But the camps I know for sure I am going to are at Mississippi State, LSU, Pittsburg, Southern Miss and ULL."

Last fall, Antoine made his mark as a big-hitter in the secondary and finished with 67 tackles, nine tackles for loss, two sacks and also forced three fumbles. But he wants to be known more for his all-around game this fall and that process starts this summer.

"I am really looking to improve my coverage skills," said Antoine. "I have worked on getting faster and I want to show coaches that I can also cover receivers and not just be known for my big hits.

"Most schools are talking about me being a rover at safety and also playing in the box against the run. So I want to make sure I can be versatile in the secondary."
