Vols Make Strong Push For Golden

The focus on the University of Tennessee campus this weekend was undoubtedly on the football field, but there were also some matters of great importance for the basketball program taking place on the recruiting front with a couple of official visitors in town. One of those, four-star prospect Trae Golden, could turn out to be the answer to the questions that have plagued the Vols at point guard in this class.

Golden (6-foot-1, 190 pounds), from Mceachern High School in Powder Springs, Ga. emerged as potential answer to the Vols' point-guard dilemma very shortly after Josh Selby's de-commitment in July caused said dilemma.

The Vols were fortunate that a prospect of Golden's caliber was still available this late in the game, and this weekend's official visit was a chance for the staff to capitalize on that good fortune by selling the Tennessee program as a future home for the point guard.
