Richardson will visit

Wilson (NC) Greenfield guard Brian Richardson is another 2010 prospect being chased by the South Carolina basketball staff.

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound Richardson has offers from multiple programs.

"I don't want to leave anybody out," Richardson started. "So far, I have offers from USC, UVA, Xavier, UNC-Wilmington, Alabama, and VCU. That's all I can name right now."

According to Richardson, there are several other schools showing interest that could soon offer.

"Marquette, Arizona State, Missouri, Oklahoma State,Maryland and Boston College are some other schools I'm hearing from," he said.

The guard, who told GamecockCentral.com that he has averaged 8 to 10 points per game playing for Boo Williams' AAU squad, has not taken many visits yet.

"I haven't really yet," he said. "I took a visit last year to UVA and loved the atmosphere. I plan on taking some visits this summer to the schools I named."

Richardson's friend and teammate, wing Jeremy Jeffers, also has an offer from the Gamecocks. Could the two play together?

"We have talked about that," he said. "We are good friends."

What will the North Carolina guard be looking for at the next level?

"Just how I fit in," he said. "The academics are the important thing; class size and my major. I'm also looking for a good environment and system."

Richardson added that he will try to decide in the fall. He has no favorites.
Hopefully this coming fall.

"I have dreams of playing in the ACC," he said. "It's still open, though. I'm just looking for wherever best fits me."
