Knight shows off at AAU tournament was on hand to check out South East Elite PG Brandon Knight this weekend at the Wallace Prather Memorial Classic on the Georgia Tech campus.
Brandon Knight is one of the most sought after prospects in the nation as his rankings show. The 6'3" 195 lb Point Guard from Coral Springs, Fl is rated the #1 PG in the nation by and many other websites and he showed why he has such a lofty ranking.
Sunday afternoon, Knight used his blazing speed to control the tempo of the game in many different ways. He displays a smooth jump shot from the midrange and from well beyond the arc, while also using his long and big body to penetrate down the lane to get to the line. Knight ended up with 23 points for the South East Elite team, but it was not enough as they lost in the Semi's to Team Florida. He ended up with four Three pointers, 8 assists (unofficial), and a couple of steals while trying to push his team to a win in the final seconds.
With an unexpected exit from the tournament this weekend, Knight sets his sights on the rest of the summer. "I plan on going to the NBA top 100 camp, Darren Williams, and I'm not really sure what other plans I have at the moment."
Currently, the five-star prospect is being recruited by the likes of Miami, Syracuse ,Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Kentucky, Connecticut, Duke, Florida , and others.
When asked about his top schools at the moment, Knight explained why he was open to everyone. "I think it's pretty even right now with a lot of schools. I have not really sat down, thought about it and started the whole recruitment thing. I have interest in just about everybody; I haven't really broken it down yet."
"I have some interest in Georgia Tech, the Florida schools, and just about everyone," Knight explained. His recruitment should start to become much clearer later in the summer after he sits down and narrows it down.
