UVa among several to make Sanford a priority

Every spring in the world of college basketball recruiting, there are players who come virtually out of nowhere to become big-time targets.

One player who is experiencing that scenario right now is Lexington (Ky.) Lexington Catholic combo guard Vee Sanford.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pounder is having a monster senior season and numerous college programs, including Virginia, have made him a priority target this spring.

For Sanford, while the recruiting attention was slow to materialize, the major college interest has been extremely satisfying.
