Miller's a Dawg
Loganville Christian Academy has been in existence for 11 years and it has had a basketball program for only six. On November 12, 2008, LCA had a historic event take place on their campus when Daniel Miller signed with the University of Georgia. He is the first Division I basketball signee out of the Academy and it was a big day in Loganville.
"I am just excited for Daniel, his family, Loganville Christian Academy, and the University of Georgia," said LCA Head Basketball Coach Mark Davis.
"Daniel has been a joy to coach, he has worked extremely hard here over the last three years, and I think the UGA coaching staff has found a jewel."
The jewel that Coach Davis has for one more year averaged 28 points and 13 rebounds as a junior at LCA. The 6-foot-10, 240 pound center picked up an offer from Georgia late in the summer and committed to them in early September.
The Dawgs are getting someone that has improved a lot over the last couple of years and his best basketball is ahead of him.
"He is really a gifted and talented basketball player," added Coach Davis. "He has great timing, he can handle the basketball, he is a tremendous defender, he shot over 70 percent from the field as a junior, and he has a great work ethic. He works hard and he is going to do that at Georgia to improve his game and their team."
