Jerry Brown speaks out about his commitment

Yesterday RedWaveReport.com broke the news of the basketball commitment of small forward Jerry Brown to the Bulldogs as Fresno State pulled off the daily-double of two commitments in a 24-hour period. Today, Brown told us why he pulled the trigger on his visit.

San Francisco (Calif.) Sacred Heart Cathedral High School small forward Jerry Brown is one of four solid looking commitments to Fresno State this recruiting season. The Bay Area product says Fresno State is building something special in the valley.

"I came out this past weekend and loved the school," Brown said. "I built a great relationship with the coaching staff from day one."

Brown is 6-foot-6, 195 pounds and played during the summer for EBO/2K Sports. He had other offers from Seton Hall, Washington, Cal and Cal Poly.

Brown says his visit put the Bulldogs ahead of the crowd of other teams looking for his services.

"I have been on several campuses, but I had not been to one with a community that is behind the program like Fresno State," Brown said. "I like what they are building."

Brown is rated 3-stars by Rivals.com and is the fourth commitment of the season for Fresno State along with 4-star center Greg Smith, 2-star guard Chris Jones and small forward Garrett Johnson.
