Cobbs In No Hurry
Bishop Montgomery point guard Justin Cobbs thought he would have his recruiting decision made by the end of the summer. That was until he lit up the AAU circuit and interest from some big time programs really began to heat up. Cobbs currently holds offers from Washington State, Colorado, Iowa, San Diego State and Southern California to name a few. However, California and Washington have been in constant contact and could offer the quick floor leader at any time.
"Washington has not offered me yet, but they called my Dad yesterday and told him that they will be in contact within the next two or three days to let me know what is going on," explained Cobbs.
Despite the uncertainty, the Huskies remain at the top of Cobbs' list.
"Washington is one of my top teams for sure," said Cobbs. "I also like Cal and San Diego State. When I was in Seattle it was great. The city had a college atmosphere and they really support their team. The coaches are all great and they are also very supportive. I don't have a single favorite right now and I actually am going to take some time before making my decision. I did want to have my decision early, but I had a really good summer and the attention from schools like Washington has increased."
Cobbs and his California Supreme AAU team love to run the floor and play transition basketball. The 6-foot-0 guards ability to run and find the open man would fit nicely into the Huskies system.
"Washington's system fits my skills perfectly. My Cal Supreme team with Gary Franklin loves to run and we are always looking for easy baskets out of transition. If you notice the teams I am looking at they all like to run."
Cobbs recently took an unofficial visit to San Diego State and is currently planning more.
"I'm waiting to plan my visit to Washington until I hear from them later this week," said Cobbs. "I want to take an official visit there if I get the chance."
