Farmer's JC coach expects fall decision

Iowa State is among four schools that have made scholarship offers so far to Concordia (Kan.) Cloud County Community College small forward/shooting guard Jemal Farmer. And the process is a long way from being over according to Farmer's JC coach.

ISU, TCU, Loyola of Chicago and Wisconsin-Green Bay are the schools to date that have offered Farmer, according to Cloud County head coach Kevin Muff. In addition, schools like Nebraska, Illinois State and Tulane are ramping up their interest in Farmer, a 6-foot-5 swingman who played his high school basketball at Bloom Township High School in the Chicago area.

Coach Muff said he's expecting a decision from Farmer this fall, in time to sign during the early signing period in November.

"I don't think he'll be doing anything real quickly as far as making a decision," Coach Muff said. "But he'll probably sign in the early period, I'm going to make him available for that. There's no reason not to if you are in position to do it and he will be. He'll be alright to come out for 2009."
