Cottrill takes center stage at Jam Fest

MORGANTOWN--With the Triple "S" Harley Davidson Hoop Group Jam Fest set to invade Morgantown once again starting Monday, it's a safe bet that fans of West Virginia University basketball will be keeping an eye on the West Virginia Rush 17-U squad. Led by Mountaineer commits Noah Cottrill and Storm Stanley, the Rush figures to be a crowd favorite.

That's fine with Cottrill, the rising junior from Poca High School. After verbally committing to WVU last summer, the sharp-shooting guard has grown accustomed to being scrutinized by large crowds of curious onlookers. In fact, he looks forward to it. "I love AAU tournaments. It's all about the competition," Cottrill said. "You don't earn your scholarship playing high school basketball. You earn it on the summer AAU circuit."
