Two-sport star visits Missouri

Bryant Allen will have a college decision twice as difficult as most high school prospects. Like any player, Allen will have to choose a school. But before that, he'll have to choose a sport.

On the football field, Allen led Maplewood with 21 touchdowns as a junior. He ran for 672 yards and ten scores, caught 30 passes for 692 yards and ten more touchdowns, completed eight of 13 passes and made 73 tackles and four interceptions on defense. On the hardwood, he is shooting 52% from three-point range and leading the team with 23.6 points, 5.2 assists and 5.5 steals as a point guard.

Allen was at Missouri's football junior day on Saturday, along with teammate Devin Lindsey. Allen talked with cornerbacks coach Cornell Ford, who said he had had discussions with Tiger basketball coach Mike Anderson about Allen's dual talent.

Allen said Missouri, Iowa, Arkansas and Northern Iowa are recruiting him in football. On the basketball side, he lists SLU, Mizzou, Missouri State, Clemson and Western Illinois.
