Brown sees a burnt orange future
The recruitment of Port Arthur (Texas) Memorial combo guard J'Covan Brown was one of twists and turns recently, but on Thursday afternoon the four star prospect made a commitment to his childhood favorite, the Texas Longhorns. The 6-2, 180-pound guard is the first commitment in the 2008 class for the Longhorns and a key one with the possibility that sophomore point guard D.J. Augustin may enter the NBA draft.
Brown picked the Longhorns over Oklahoma State and Cincinnati on Thursday and says he followed his heart as he has always wanted to go to Texas.
Brown said a few things led to him picking Texas such as the coaching staff, the school and the chances of following Augustin.
