Mays enjoyed his official visit to NC State
Come October of 2008, guard Julius Mays should be suiting up for his first Red-White game as a member of NC State's basketball team. However Mays should know how the game works by then. After all it was at last year's Red-White scrimmage that he committed to the Pack, and this year he made his official visit during the weekend of the annual game.
"It was real nice," Mays said of the visit. "I enjoyed the game, and the football game and all the people. Most of the people knew who I was so it was exciting. There was good excitement in the crowd."
Mays arrived on Friday and left Sunday, returning to his Marion, Ind., home around 3:00 p.m.
"We ate at a lot of nice places," Mays said. "We went to the Red and White game of course, hang out with the team and then went to the football game, tailgated and watched the game. It was real fun.
"Most of the time I was with Courtney Fells and Brandon Costner. I went to class with Brandon Costner and hung out a lot with Courtney, but I was with the team a lot, Gavin [Grant] and everybody else, J.J. [Hickson] and everybody."
What excited Mays the most however may have been the performance of the team.
