August 23, 2007 scouting report: Marcus Denmon

Early this week, Missouri got its third commitment of the 2008 class from Kansas City guard Marcus Denmon. Denmon has been on the rise all summer and this was viewed as a major pickup for the Tigers. basketball analyst and national scout Jerry Meyer has seen Denmon play multiple times. Meyer took some time to answer a few questions on Denmon to give Tiger fans a better idea of the player they are getting.

Give us a quick scouting report on Denmon. What is he good at and where does he need work?

Jerry Meyer: First and foremost, Denmon is a scorer. He has a knack for creating his shot and shoots the ball on the move with confidence. Physical and competitive, he is also a strong one on one defender. If he can improve as an overall playmaker with the ball it will only increase his stock. He could be a two position player and not just a shooting guard.
