Olu Part 2: Olu is looking forward to life at RU

Over the past two days, the topic of conversation on the boards has been Olu Ashaolu, the Canadian athlete who previously committed to Rutgers. Reports this week stated that perhaps Ashaolu was no longer committed to Fred Hill's Scarlet Knights. In our first glimpse into the situation, Ashaolu's AAU coach Ro Russell - the source of the decommitment rumors - stated that Olu is indeed looking around. However, in our latest piece, Olu appears to be very happy with his decision. We look forward to reading your comments on the message board.


Olu Ashaolu has definitely lived up to the hype at this year's Reebok Basketball Camp in Philadelphia. Against some of the nation's stiffest competition, Ashaolu turned in quite an impressive performance.

"I felt good out there, I felt very comfortable," said Ashaolu. "It's my fourth time here. It was a long drive, really long, but it's good to be here."

Ashaolu showed that his game has a wide variety of offensive skills. He constantly moved well without the ball, his quick first step dusted defenders and he showed that he could play above the rim. He attacked the glass with the same tenacity he showed when he would throw down one of his mighty dunks.
