Pitts taking off

Cincinnati, Ohio-The knock on three-star 2008 guard Damier Pitts is that at 6-foot tall he is too small for a shooting guard and isn't a true point guard. On Friday at the Adidas It takes 5 Classic Pitts showed the poise and leadership of a true point guard, while also displaying the ability to score when needed. It is a fine line that he has been working on throughout the spring and an area where he has made significant strides.

On this day, Pitts and his Carolina Raptors teammates earned a hard fought win over the Derek Smith All Stars, with Pitts leading the way and hitting 4 free throws in the final minute to seal the victory. Pitts finished with a very efficient 16 points and 6 assists, while also pulling down 7 rebounds and grabbing 3 steals for good measure.

Pitts has a host of schools he is hearing from, including the Illinois Fighting Illini. He has only taken one visit so far, but has plans to take a few more.

Others showing interest include West Virginia, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, East Carolina and Wake Forest.
