Shipman: Why he chose Florida

Ray Shipman is not the highest-rated player at his position - he's not even among the top 20 small forwards in the 2008 class according to Rivals.com - but when Florida coach Billy Donovan signed Joakim Noah, Corey Brewer and Al Horford in the 2004 class, those three players were not ranked exceptionally high, either.

Shipman fits well into Donovan's system and like Brewer, Horford and Noah, Shipman will have a chance to excel even more once he gets to Gainesville. Since Shipman's assets match Donovan's playing style, rankings might not be as crucial in this instance.

Another decision that will be made this summer is when Shipman's AAU teammate, Kenny Kadji, will pick his college.
