Osby opens TOC with solid effort

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Meridian (MS) Northeast Lauderdale power forward Romero Osby put together a solid effort Friday night in leading his Southeast Elite AAU team to a pool-round victory at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions.

The 6-8, 230-pound forward scored 13 points on six-of-10 shooting from the floor, and added six rebounds (three offensive), two assists, and two steals, in helping lead the Elite past the Long Island Lightning, 69-66.

Osby has been heavily recruited by several top programs nationwide, and currently remains open to all of them. While he contends that there are currently no leaders, he is looking to narrow his list soon.

His list includes Kentucky, Louisville, Mississippi State, Texas, Arkansas, Florida, Ole Miss, USC, UCLA, Minnesota, Alabama, Tennessee, LSU. In recent weeks, Osby has been drawing some interest from North Carolina.
