Drew discusses Tar Heel commitment

Larry Drew may have committed to North Carolina just this week, but in his own words, it's something he's been thinking about since the day he saw UNC head coach Roy Williams watching him from the stands as the 6-0, 160-pound point guard helped lead his Pump N' Run Elite AAU team to the Adidas Super 64 title last summer.

"I think all along I wanted to be a Tar Heel, ever since Roy Williams went to my games last year in Vegas," Drew said Wednesday evening.

Drew, who had recently narrowed his top two choices down to North Carolina and Arizona, wound up committing to UNC in the wake of Brandon Jennings' decision to become a Wildcat. While he conceded that Jennings' commitment helped make his commitment a little easier, it was his relationship with Williams that ultimately helped seal the decision to become a Tar Heel.
