Introducing DeLaSalle's Royce White

At least 15 Minnesota players will be heading off to division one schools from the 2007 class so stepping into their spotlight is the class of 2009 led by DeLaSalle's Royce White. White, a 6-foot-7 215 pound forward, led the Islanders in scoring this past winter with 21.8 points per game and he's on his way to becoming a high major player that Tubby Smith and Minnesota will be watching.

A year ago, the 6-foot-7 White (he does say 6-foot-8 with the now thicker afro) was playing the center role for a DeLaSalle team that won the class AAA state championship behind the leadership of coach Dave Thorson and point guard Cameron Rundles, now at Montana. White averaged 5.2 points a game a year ago filling the defensive pivot role, cleaning the glass and putting in point blank lay-ups.

A half a year later his growth was being talked about in every corner of the Twin Cities and his monster jams at the St. Thomas Jamboree ushered in the new year with college coaches looking on.
