Dobie survived 20 points by J'Covan Brown in the first 12-minutes of the game playing 2-3 zone before switching to a box and one that proved to be too tough for Memorial. Dobie received a career-night from senior guard Warren Webb and hit timely three-pointers in the second half to pull away for a 63-54 win despite 31 points, six rebounds and six steals from Brown.
In the opening quarter, the game looked as though it would go the way of Port Arthur Memorial as Brown sliced up the Longhorns' 2-3 zone, scoring 12 points, grabbing three rebounds and recording two steals.
