Michigan junior gives verbal to Wildcats

While the eyes of the Big Blue Nation have been fixated on the recruitment of elite seniors Jai Lucas and Patrick Patterson as they draw closer to their college decisions, a 2008 prospect has beat them to the punch.

Saginaw (Mich.) High School forward Draymond Green gave his verbal commitment to Kentucky on Monday a week after making an unofficial visit to Lexington.

"I came down there for the Florida game, and coach (Tubby) Smith sat down and talked to me about how I could help their program," Green said. "Then he offered me a scholarship, and I was really excited. I was real close to making a commitment then, but I decided to go back home and think about it a little bit.
