McDonald shooting up the charts

Cypress Springs dropped it's first game in district 17-5A Tuesday night with a 79-74 decision at Houston Strake Jesuit, but Springs is still in control to win the district with a 10-1 record and a 25-6 record overall.

Junior shooting guard Phillip McDonald is much of the reason Springs is on top of the district standings as he is averaging 17.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. McDonald is also hitting 44.1-percent of his 3-point attempts.

McDonald has scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Texas, Kansas, UNLV and Arizona.
