Garcia has early favorite

Six-foot-ten, 210-pound Angel Garcia has not given up on his chance to
play this year for East Chicago Central. The junior moved this fall to the
Indiana high school after spending last year at Lake Forest Academy in the
Chicago suburbs. But recently the Indiana High School Athletic Association
(IHSAA) ruled him ineligible.

We caught up with Garcia last Saturday as he was with the East Chicago team
as they participated in the Circle City Challenge of Champions event held all
day at Butler's Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Garcia talked like he has no plans to leave E.C. Central, no matter the
ruling.

Of course one of those players is 6-foot-4 Purdue signee E'twaun Moore. The
6-foot-4 guard is the #37 player in the Rivals150 for the senior class.
His absence due to an ankle injury was a major cause behind Central's 67-49 loss
Saturday at Hinkle to Indianapolis Pike.

Even though Moore is headed to Purdue, it is Illinois and Indiana that have captured Garcia's early recruiting attention and the Boilers' arch-rival is
his early favorite.
