In-State Junior Rising Fast

Two years ago the state of Tennessee was loaded with high school basketball talent, producing a handful of top-100 prospects. It's looking like déjà vu in the Class of '08, with Chattanooga post player Philip Jurick, who made an unofficial visit to Knoxville, leading what is starting to look like another top-collection of in-state prospects.

Jurick (6-foot-10, 250 pounds) started drawing some buzz last winter during his sophomore season at East Ridge. We first told you about him back in February (Click Here for story). Since that time, he's seen his stock skyrocket in recruiting circles, thanks specifically to the way he closed out his summer with a strong showing in the national AAU tournament in Orlando during the July evaluation period for college coaches.
