Holman high on the Beavers

With only one scholarship to give the Class of 2007, the Oregon State basketball coaching staff is being very selective in whom they hand out offers to this fall. One thing's for sure though - Eli Holman is high on their list. The Beavers identified the athletic 6-foot-10, 210-pound forward from Richmond, Calif., Richmond High School as a player they wanted early on, and while OSU may not currently rank number one on his list, they aren't too far behind.


This summer, Holman proved himself as one of the nation's best. In July, he made a mark with his work on the boards and on defense starting at Reebok ABCD camp, and continued to play well with the Oakland Soldiers AAU program the rest of the month. A lefty big man who gets up and down the court with ease, Holman may be still developing offensively, but has made progress in that area without sacrificing what he does best.
