Four-Star Hoopster Has Vols on Short List
After last season, Tennessee fans should be confident in their basketball coach's ability to target a recruit in July (a little late in the game in many cases), make a strong impression and get that prospect to campus in the fall on a visit. Bruce Pearl pulled it off in a couple of impressive instances in his highly-regarded '06 class, and versatile four-star guard Jason Henry is a target the Vols may look to do the same with this fall.
Henry (6-foot-6, 190 pounds) is an intriguing talent who had fallen off the radar a bit during his junior year, but he is now very much back on it and has several high major programs chasing after him as the official visit season gets ready to start.
He is originally from West Memphis, Ark. but has transferred to Light of the World Christian Academy in Georgia to finish out his senior year. He had a tremendous showing that lasted for pretty much the entire month of July when college coaches were on the road during the evaluation period, and after closing the summer with a huge tournament in Las Vegas, Henry finds his stock soaring.
