Braswell has solidified himself
August 17, 2006 - Long on the Hoya's recruiting radar, junior Chris Braswell used his spring and summer to introduce himself nationally to many schools. It's safe to say the 6-foot-9, 240-pound self described "skilled, power forward" has positioned himself as one of the most highly regarded frontcourt players in the East.
In an interview conducted several days ago, Chris established his college list as "Maryland, Georgetown, Pitt, Charlotte, Virginia Tech, Virginia." He said no school led for his services. A decision will be made "probably sometime this year."
Braswell's plan to verbally commit his junior year is based upon a desire to end the recruiting process. "I want to get it out of the way" said Chris. "My 12th-grade year, I don't' want to worry about anything but getting ready for college."
His choice will be predicated upon the school's "environment", and "getting to know the team, tutors, and basketball program." To that end, he has unofficially visited Maryland, while an official visit has been planned for Pittsburgh on September 23 - as initially reported by knowledgeable web sources - and another is being developed for Villanova. Other visits will surely be arranged.
