Pittsburgh area star has Xavier offer

Western Pennsylvania is not exactly known as a hot bed for high school basketball, but over the past couple of years the area has been producing some high end talent. Players like Herb Pope and DeJuan Blair get most of the publicity, but it is a 2008 guard named Brian Walsh who is now attracting a lot of attention in the Steel City.


There is no more fundamental skill in the game of basketball than shooting. That is the skill that Walsh excels at most. He stands 6-foot-4, has good athleticism, and a deadly outside shooting stroke. That combination is opening the eyes of fans, scouts, and college recruiters alike.


At the recent AAU Super Showcase was showing off a quick release and great rotation on his jumper. However Walsh was not happy with his own performance, "This tournament I haven't been playing my best. I really haven't been shooting the ball too well. I am just giving it my best, and it giving it my all. If it doesn't go my way offensively I know just need to go out and play good defense."
