Nash: UK 'rolled out the red carpet for me'

Tyrone Nash has returned from his official visit to the University of Kentucky and is expected to discuss his college future with his family tonight at his New York home.


"I had a great time," said Nash, a 6-foot-7 forward from Lawrence-Woodmere Academy. "They really rolled out the red carpet for me. I'm still full from all the food they fed me. It was a great time.


"They wanted me to commit, but I haven't decided anything yet. I wanted to get back home, relax a little bit, and talk it over with my family. But Kentucky has definitely made this a hard decision. If they had been on me longer, it would be a no-brainer, but I need to think things over. It's been a whirlwind process."


Nash is a 2006 prospect who was expected to take the prep school route in hopes of raising his recruiting stock for next year. But that all changed when schools like Kentucky, Indiana and Notre Dame became heavily involved late in the process. The Wildcats, who have two available scholarship offers after the early departure of Adam Williams and Shagari Alleyne, recently made an official offer to Nash, leading to the official visit.
