Viney visit a dream come true

Imagine a 20-minute private shoot-around with an All-American and future lottery pick during your unofficial visit to one of the nation's hottest programs. Such was the case Monday at Washington for Drew Viney, No. 44 Rivals150 for 2007, when he hung out with Brandon Roy before the rest of the troops rolled in. "Brandon is just a great guy. I had a pleasure meeting him," said Viney, who talked with Roy about everything from basketball to school to life in general.

The Villa Park, Calif., High small forward with a Tayshaun Prince-type body and Scottie-Pippen type versatility finished up his stay in Seattle with a little roundball action with some of next year's team, along with some other blasts from the past in the Seattle area. When a former Ranier Beach star showed up, that's when Viney about lost it. "I was like 'Is that Jamal Crawford?' It was the first time I got to talk to an NBA player."
