Minnesota AAU Weekend Review
The state AAU championships of Minnesota took place this weekend and Minnesota Magic teams came away with the 17-and-under and 16-and-under titles.
Magic Gold was a heavy favorite to win the 17s and they did so in solid fashion. At the 16s, the Minnesota Glory lost to Magic Elite but they did upset the talented 43 Hoops 16s and this weekend, Josh Hagan of Glory made a major name for himself with some outstanding play.
But in the finals, Elite came away with the win and Michael Floyd highlighted the title game with a pair of awesome alley-opp jams.
To no real surprise, the Magic Gold handled everyone in their way with a solid team effort on both ends. Its tough to talk about just a player or two from this group because so many played so well and two of those games were without Marcus Brumm who was at football camp in Iowa. But the backcourt combo of Brady Soule and Tyler Nicolai was again tremendous and this team is now 23-0 in two months of play.
