Howard gets big new offer and plans trips

Coming into the spring AAU season, Matt Howard was thought of as a solid role player who would end up at a mid-major school. Now Howard is rated in the Rivalshoops.com Top 100 and is one of the most highly sought after recruits in the Midwest. Howard recently picked up a new Big Ten offer and is hoping to visit several schools in the next couple of months.

The Spiece Central Stars are on the top programs on the AAU circuit. Not only are they talented, but unlike many AAU teams, the Central Stars play well together as a team. According to Howard that is one of the things that has helped him raise his level of play. "It went pretty good; we played pretty well this spring. We just love playing together and I think we will be alright this year. There are so many really good players on our team, it is just so much fun to play with everybody."

For the next month the Central Stars are on a break, and Howard will focus on seeing schools and playing with his high school team. "The only individual camp that I'm going to is over at Xavier on the eighth and ninth. After that I have the Junior All-Stars, there is three games with that. I have a couple of team camps with my high school team, and other than that I'm going to try to get out to see more schools and take some visits and stuff."
