Bear improves game and academics

Local Minneapolis product Angelo "Bear" Johnson moved down to Georgia this past year to concentrate on improving his academics and playing in a whole new atmosphere of high school basketball.

Since his move, Johnson has improved all facets of his game as he's taking advantage of his burning quickness to make plays himself or for others. He has re-classified now that he is at a prep school and the extra time in school is paying dividends both on the court and in the classroom.

Johnson was getting interest from schools before he left and with his play improving in Georgia, a list of colleges have been watching his progress. "Iowa State, Georgetown, Creighton, Montana and UAB are looking at me now," stated Johnson. "Also, Minnesota has just started to show some interest." Now that Bear is a member of the 2008 class, he will have several opportunities to impress major colleges from around the country.
