Catching big fish

After losing some of the top player in the 2006 recruiting class, coach Jeff Capel and his Oklahoma basketball program snagged one of the top players in the country for 2007 on Saturday.

Following the 2006 Kingwood Classic one of the most impressive players turned out to be Edmond (Okla.) Oklahoma Christian School forward Blake Griffin, who used his overpowering size and athletic ability to put himself in another league on the court. His performance led to him being named a five-star earlier in the week as big name programs across the country began to show major interest.

Griffin spent no time soaking in the attention, however, as his visit to Oklahoma this weekend led to a verbal commitment hours later.
