Leuer is starting to get a few offers

Every spring, some new prospects step on the national scene making an impact and get noticed from schools around the country. Minnesota's version of that player thus far has been Orono forward Jon Leuer, 6-foot-9, 215 pounds.

This past year at Orono, Leuer averaged 20 points and ten rebounds per game and now playing with the Magic Elite, Jon has stepped up his play in national competition and schools are taking notice, including the hometown Minnesota Gophers.

As a sophomore, Jon played sparingly at Orono scoring only ten points for his entire varsity season. Then after an off-season of hard work and some growth, Leuer turned heads in his first game as a junior scoring 25 points in a loss to Fridley.

From there he scored in double figures every game with a high of 29 vs. Wayzata.

Leuer has shown the ability to play either forward position this spring. With Cole Aldrich out of the line-up at the Kingwood, Jon stepped into the middle and became an immediate scoring presence leading his team to a solid showing.

Then with Cole back in the post at the Magic Invite, Jon stepped out to the wing and hit shots with a smooth looking jumper and he ran the floor well for easy shots on the break.
