UNC Staff Eyes Griffin

The spring circuit is always a launching pad every year for some upper elite high major talents.


UNC's own Tyler Hansbrough exploded on the spring circuit to national prominence a couple years ago.


And so did NBA star and former Syracuse freshman sensation Carmelo Anthony.


This spring, several names have began to climb the national charts to stardom. But none may have done more to boost their national stock than 6-8 power forward Blake Griffin from Oklahoma Christian School in Edmond, Okla. He suits up for AAU competition as a member of Oklahoma's Athletes First.


The hard nosed, physical junior, who's up to 234 pounds, according to his father, is not only a big-time regional target, but he's now a national one as well.
