Luke Babbitt stars at the Schweitzer Games

One player BearTerritory has been keeping a close eye on the past two seasons is 6-foot-7, 220-pound combo forward Luke Babbitt. The 2008 star prospect from Reno, Nev., Galena high school recently finished playing in the annual (Under 18) Albert Schweitzer Youth Tournament in Mannheim, Germany. The event provided an excellent look into the future talent pool of International basketball and allowed some prospects from around the United States, like Babbitt, a chance to represent their country.

This year's tournament included teams from 16 countries including the United States, China, and Canada as well as 13 European nations. For Babbitt, it was an excellent opportunity to see some of the world while also continuing to play basketball.

"We had a couple of days off in between games and it was a great time," Babbitt said. "I saw a couple of castles and went shopping. It was nice to just go see the scenery; eat some ice cream in a different place."
