2013 TE camps at Tech
Rosenberg (Texas) Terry tight end Derrick Griffin attended a Texas Tech camp in Lubbock last week. The 2013 prospect left West Texas feeling good about his performance.
"The camp was really good. I had a really good time their," Griffin said. "I got to meet everybody and I liked all of the coaches I got to spend time with. I even got to meet their chancellor, so that was a big deal too."
"I liked what I got to know about their offense. They're just now getting back to having a tight end in their set and they like to throw the ball a lot. I think I could make in impact there."
The 6-foot-6, 215-pounder spent most of his time in conversation with Sonny Cumbie.
"Our relationship is good. I liked some of the things that he was pointing out, and just the way he was going about some stuff. He seems like a good guy."
Griffin has yet to set firm plans for any camps moving forward, but he does have a few in mind.
"I think I'll be going to a Baylor camp soon," he said. "I'm hearing the most from Texas Tech, Oregon, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, USC, and Texas right now. I want to get out and see those programs that are showing me the most interest."
"I liked what I got to see at Texas Tech, and the people I got to meet. The camp went really good, so we'll see how it goes now."
