Henderson talks Charlotte
Now that Alan Major's 2011 class looks to be complete, the focus turns to 2012. One of the players high on Charlotte's list is Terry Henderson, a 6-5, 180 pound shooting guard out of Neuse Baptist Christian School in Raleigh.
Henderson has been a hot commodity among both high and mid-major programs, picking up six offers to this point. Appalachian State was the most recent to offer. Richmond, William & Mary, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville and Charlotte are currently Henderson's other offers.
"They (Charlotte) offered me a couple of weeks ago," Henderson said of the 49ers.
Henderson didn't give a top 5, but said the other schools he was high on were Richmond, Stanford, Clemson and Tennessee.
"I don't have a top 3 at the moment, but that will probably change after July," he said.
Henderson is known for his scoring ability on the court, but said he needs to bulk up his 180-pound frame.
"The best part about my game is my shooting," he said. "I take pride in my shot and I use that to my advantage on the court. I'm definitely in the weight room because I know I need to get my body ready for the next level."
Henderson said he hasn't taken any visits yet, but plans on making a trip to Charlotte sometime in June. It won't be his first trip to Charlotte, though.
"I came for an elite camp last year," he said. "I loved the campus, the facilities and the location of the school."
"The team (Charlotte) seemed like they had a strong bond with each other and just seemed like an overall great atmosphere to be around."
Henderson said he plans on making his college decision around October or November.
