Davis sharpens point guard skills at Run-N-Slam

FORT WAYNE - With two-time All-Big Ten point guard Kalin Lucas entering his senior year next season and backup point Korie Lucious embarking on his junior year, the Michigan State is looking for a point guard for 2011.

At this weekends Bill Hensley Memorial Run-and-Slam tournament in Fort Wayne a home-state standout and one of the premier junior guards in Indiana, Jeremiah Davis of Muncie Central, has been sharpening his point-guard skills.

At 6-3 and 195 pounds, Davis is bigger than most point guards the same age. Davis lacks the explosive quickness of Lucas, but the Indiana Elite star is a talented point guard with a different skill set.

Ranked the No. 40 overall prospect in the 2011 Class by Rivals.com, Davis has the strength to drive to the basket and finish through contact. He can also stretch defenses with his perimeter jumper.

Playing for the Indiana Select team that includes Cody Zeller, Marshall Plumlee, Austin Etherington and sophomore standout Yogi Ferrell, Davis has been sharpening up his point guard skills.
