Davis staying the course

Coming off a stellar recruiting haul in 2010, Michigan State is looking to add another quality group in the 2011 class. One prospect the Spartans have kept their eyes on is four-star guard Jeremiah Davis of Muncie (Ind.) Central.

SpartanMag.com recently caught up with Davis (6-3, 195) and he talked about his junior season and the latest in his recruitment.

"I thought this season went pretty well. It had some ups and downs, but it ended really well," said Davis, whom Rivals.com ranks the No. 40 prospect overall in the Class of 2011. "We won the sectional championship. I made first-team all-conference and junior all-stars here.

"I think I averaged 17 (points) 5 (rebounds) and four (assists), something like that. I'm not positive, though. I improved this season by being a being a better leader, trying to get everybody better, things like that."

As for his recruitment, Davis said not much has changed in terms of the teams pursuing him and where he stands in his decision-making process, despite rumors surfacing earlier this week that's he's on the verge of ending his recruitment.

"About the same thing," Davis said of the schools that have offered and continue to pursue him. "Michigan State, IU, Cincinnati, Xavier, Ohio State, Tennessee, UNLV, Dayton, Miami-FL, DePaul and Purdue."

A couple other schools have entered his recruitment recently.

"Georgetown and Arizona," Davis said. "I'm not sure if they're on the verge of offering, but I know they're interested."
