Carson takes in Corvallis

The Mesa (Ariz.) Jackrabbits were the number 1 team in the Arizona 5A-I division most of the season. Led by lightning quick point guard Jahii Carson, Mesa had their hopes for a state title dashed in the quarterfinals by Phoenix-St. Mary's. After finishing the season 25-5, the exit from the state tournament allowed the 5-foot-10 Oregon State commit the opportunity to make a last minute unofficial visit to Corvallis to watch the Beavers take on the Huskies on Saturday.

The junior is currently one of the top prospects in the class of 2011 with amazing speed and tremendous ball control. This year he averaged 23.7 points per game, 5.6 assists and 9 blocks. He has also been a finalist in countless slam dunk contests throughout the West Coast.

Carson committed to Coach Robinson in May of 2009 and hasn't looked back. He spoke to BeaverBlitz about his visit and his thoughts on joining the team in a little over a year.

"The visit was definitely really nice," Carson said. "I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the small college town. It was great to see how all of the people in the community support all of the sports. The fan support was great and it was something that I wanted to see."
