Branch back on the football field

Humble Atascocita guard Jamal Branch had to miss Houston Swoosh Select's second game at the Next Level Ballers AAU tournament last weekend in Frisco after bruising his hip in the team's first game of the tournament.

After rolling through pool play without Branch in the team's second game, Branch returned for the first round of bracket play but sat at for the latter part of the second half after Swoosh Select pulled out to an insurmountable lead over Oklahoma Magic.

The 6-foot-3, 170-pound five-star prospect and No. 10 ranked player in the Rivals Top 10 in 2011 committed to Texas A&M in the fall over scholarship offers from pretty much any program you can think of in the country including Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, Baylor, Arizona, Memphis and USC to name a few.
