Q&A: BadgerBlitz.com's Jon McNamara
Michigan's players promised Monday they will not be looking past Wisconsin this weekend in preparation for the Wolverines' season-ending showdown with Ohio State. A win over the Badgers would be U-M's ninth straight and would make the battle with OSU even greater. To gauge the fight Wisconsin will put up, we spoke to BadgerBlitz.com publisher Jon McNamara
1. What is the status of tailback P.J. Hill and what does the Wisconsin running game look like if he cannot go?
After head coach Bret Bielema spoke Monday afternoon, it appears P.J. Hill's status is still up in the air for Saturday. Bielema did say the choice will ultimately rely on the sophomore back, but even if he does play, don't expect Hill to be 100 percent.
If Hill is unable to go, true freshman Zach Brown is expected to make his second career start at tailback. The Florida native started last week against top-ranked Ohio State and rushed for 63 yards on 20 carries.
Behind Brown will be sophomore Lance Smith, who will be able to play Saturday because the game is at Camp Randall. Before the season started, Smith was suspended for all five of UW's road contests in 2007.
Smith and Brown both have a bit more speed around the edges, but Hill gives them the best chance to win on a weekly basis.
