Rivals100 stars highlight Texas championships

COLLEGE STATION, Texas- The second day of action at the Texas 7-on-7 State Championships featured pool play from schools in the state's larger classifications, meaning a pair of Rivals100 prospects, along with multiple additional BCS Conference-level athletes were on display.

One of the highest-rated players was Texas cornerback commit Aaron Williams of Round Rock McNeil. Williams has an excellent frame and long arms, which will be useful in the secondary. He also breaks on the ball nicely, has solid closing speed and good all around football instincts.

He played safety on Friday, so he didn't have the opportunity to showcase his coverage skills one-on-one very often, but he did an excellent job patrolling the secondary and displayed a nice feel for the game. During the later part of the day, Williams was outstanding against Mesquite. He attacked every ball in the air and had several big plays.

Williams also displayed outstanding leadership during the course of the day and appears to know not only his assignments but the assignments of his teammates as well. It was clear that he wanted to win and not only have individual success but success for his team.
