Recruit Breakdown: Korie Lucious
Analysis of Korie Lucious, a 5-foot-10 junior point guard from Milwaukee Pius and Michigan State recruit. The following commentary comes after an 81-50 win by Pius over Nicolet, as Lucious led four scorers in double figures with 18 points.
MILWAUKEE, Wis. - When you scrape away all the levels of controversy and scrutiny that have wrapped around Milwaukee Pius junior Korie Lucious, you find one thing that many have known since he was in middle school: the kid is brilliant on the basketball court.
Perhaps not the first to notice, but definitely the most eager to see how he progresses is Michigan State coach Tom Izzo, who won the services of the 5-foot-10 point guard who verbally committed to the Spartans last September.
Lucious is a lightning quick point guard (only matched by Diante Garrett of Milwaukee Vincent, an Iowa State recruit, in Wisconsin prep hoops) who also strokes the ball very well from the perimeter. On the fast break, Lucious is deadly, distributing the ball with ease and accuracy to the outlets around him.
