ARS/Penny Hardaway Hoopfest Tips-off on Friday Afternoon

Great sporting events are always dependent upon good matchups.

March Madness, for instance, has become one of the greatest spectacles in the world because any and everything can happen at the NCAA Tournament. Some of the greatest upsets and most spectacular feats in American athletic history have occurred there.

On the high school level, in-season games between truly elite basketball teams from different states generally don't occur once Christmas holiday classics end. Yet most good coaches will freely admit that they build their teams to reach peak performance sometime after December.

Now, event organizer deluxe Travis Haddock has secured contracts with several ultra-elite national programs to come into Memphis and christen the newly-renovated Spartan Dome on the campus of White Station High School in the American Residential Services/Rescue Rooter Penny Hardaway National Hoopfest, January 20-21, 2012.

Proceeds from the event will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
