Word of God's Torian Graham is one of the most talented wings in the country and this weekend while playing at the Pitt Jam Fest he made it clear that Xavier is still in the mix for landing his services.
The 6-foot-4, 195-pound wing mentioned Xavier as one of the schools he's still considering along with Kentucky, North Carolina, Miami, Boston College, Florida State, Indiana, Georgetown, Oklahoma and UCLA. He did add that perennial powers Kentucky and North Carolina were the top schools on his list, despite neither of them offering yet.
"I'm waiting on offers on North Carolina and Kentucky, Graham said. "I've already been on visits to both schools."
Graham also told Rivals' Kentucky site, CatsIllustrated, that Xavier would be one of the schools at the top of his list with Kentucky, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Georgetown and UCLA. He plans to narrow his list down at the end of the summer and start looking toward a decision.
"I stay in touch with Pat Kelsey. That's my guy," Graham added about Xavier's recruitment of him. "I talk to him a lot. He's real cool. He's like a brother. He keeps it real with me."
The four-star wing has continued his meteoric rise to the number 26th ranked player in the nation since exploding onto the scene last summer in Indianapolis at North Central High School while playing up on DC Assault's 17's team in place of Duke bound Quinn Cook. Graham gained recognition by dunking on several high-major players during that weekend and showing off his elite athleticism.
He's shot his way up the rankings over the last six months, literally. During his high school season he showed an improved shooting form and with it came more consistent results from behind the 3-point line. Saturday evening that was on display at the Peterson Events Center as Graham showed off a smooth stroke from the outside knocking down 2-of-3 from the outside.
