Brehaut solid in his first start
Sophomore quarterback, Richard Brehaut stepped up last Saturday when he played in place of the injured starting signal caller Kevin Prince. He didn’t throw any interceptions and managed the offense well leading the Bruins to a 42-28 victory over a surprisingly tougher than expected, Washington State.
Brehaut ended up his first start hitting on 12 of 23 passes for 128 yards. He talked to members of the media about his performance against Washington State.
Did you feel a little bit of air was let out of you guys when Johnathan Franklin’s touchdown was called back?
Brehaut: “Not really, it was a bummer, but at the same time we were down in the red zone and we were going to at least put up a field goal so I wouldn’t say it took the air out of us. We can’t let things like that happen, but I wouldn’t say there was one point in the Washington State game where our offense or our defense, for that matter, blinked. We knew that as long as we did what we know how to do we would get the W.”
